Photo Guide

To create a beautiful, detailed pencil portrait of your child, I need a high-quality reference photo.
If you’re not sure which photo works best, feel free to send me several options, and we can decide together.

Please note: if the photo quality is too low, I may not be able to accept the commission. A poor photo results in a poor drawing, and your child deserves a portrait that truly captures their beauty and innocence. Sometimes it’s better to wait until you have the right photo, so the artwork becomes the timeless memory it should be.

Low-quality reference photos (not suitable):

Taken in low light or at night

Low resolution (less than 2000 × 2000 pixels)

Blurry or pixelated when zooming in

Forced smile or unnatural expression

Cropped too close or missing parts of the head/shoulders

High-quality reference photos (recommended):

Taken in daylight or near a window (soft, natural light)

High resolution (more than 2000 × 2000 pixels)

Clear details when zooming in

Natural expression – smiling, relaxed, or playful

Head and shoulders fully visible, face facing forward or slightly turned

Additional notes:

Selfies are not ideal, as they often distort the face. A photo taken by someone else or in a photo studio works best.

Please avoid heavy cropping. Very close-up or, on the contrary, very distant shots make it impossible to capture details properly.

The best option is a natural, daylight photo showing your child’s face clearly, with a joyful or calm expression.

✨ This way, your portrait will not only be accurate but will also preserve the innocence and beauty of your child in the most authentic way.
